about RFCs (request for comments)? Q. i have looked out for RFCs on the net ...my questions are...when exactly do we use these RFCs.???...what if there were no such thing called RFCs being maintained by IETF ( they maintain i suppose if am not wrong)...is it kinda patenting out inventory in terms of internet and communications???if someday someone comes up with something new related to internet and networking, then is his invention is subjected to some RFC on his name later with some RFC number???...pls explain...
