Legal Domain Help PLEASE?!?
Q. m in charge of a website , but the owner of the company signed a contract with a hosting/design company back in 2005, that gave them ownership of the domain name. We had a billing dispute (around $2000) and they ended up shutting down the site completely. I tried to transfer the domain into our name within net solutions, but the opposing company quickly had a transfer approved and done that sent us out side of network solution to netnames.com. Netnames was nice enough to point the servers in the right direction, but stated that the opposing company had all of the admin rights to the domain. I'm scared to start working on the site without being the admin listed, as they seem to enjoy doing this to keep our website from working out. I know I… [cont.]

A. I do that kind of work too, and it is quite common. If you aren't wiling to pay, then it is fine for them to hold this until you do - otherwise what recourse would THEY have to collect money you admit you OWE them? I'd say a lawyer would be a waste of your time and more of your money. In the future, and for anyone reading this, register your own domain and provide access to it to your developers. Trust me, it is trivial.

I got filed a dispute on paypal!?
Q. I've made a thread about this before, but I was to nervous so I couldn't type the rest. Here was my old question - Now let me explain it fully, so I own a Game Cheating site, and in order to become a premium member you must pay $10 a month. I've all the sudden recieved a $210.00 donation from this guy who says he stole his dads credit card and donated that much to me, so I still accepted the money. He told me he wanted our site to have a domain name and I spent half of the money on that site and the other half on a new site (vBulletin). Around a week or 2 later, he filed me a dispute requesting 2 $45.00 USD back and I aparrently have 0.00 on my paypal account, but another user donated $25.00 via paypal, so now i owe $ -62.00 and in… [cont.]

A. Since the owner of the credit card didn't make the donation (stolen credit card), I think you have an obligation to pay him back. You should've rejected the payment once you found out his son stole it.
