What is the best internet security suite on the market?
Q. Im looking to switch internet security suites. I have Norton Internet 2007 right now, but I haven't been satisfied with the protection I have received, or lack there of. I have a few in mind, such as Trend Micro PC-Cillin. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

A. I don't see any reason to use anything besides Windows' built-in firewall and AVG Free for antivirus. If you're the sort that clicks every link that gets sent to you or downloads software without checking that it's from a safe source, then no security suite will help you. If you practice safe computing practices, then there's no reason to spend money on a suite.

What would cause my internet security to switch itself off?
Q. Tonight, when I switched on my older computer, I noticed that my internet security software did not show up on the task bar so I opened it up elsewhere and discovered that it had been switched off. Nobody else uses this machine. I enabled it to come on but now it will not display any pages that are secured. What could be wrong. I suspect some virus but nothing is showing up in scans. Recently I installed Spybot and strange things have been happening since then. My internet security is Norton Internet Security and I understood that it is ok to use it along side sypware protection like spybot but maybe I am wrong.

A. It's possible that one AV product has disabled the other. I don't know if Spybot has got a realtime scanner (a scanner that scans in the background whilst you work) but if it does then that might be the cause. You should only usually have one AV product with a realtime scanner installed at any one time. It's possible that if you installed Spybot it took some of your normal AV software behaviour to be suspicious and then neutralised it. As I said, it's usually only recommend to have one AV product installed because of conflict problems. The worst conflict problems I've seen are the two AV programs battling with each other and using all of the memory and resources. Those were Symantec Antivirus and CA Antivirus installed on the same… [cont.]

What's the safest way to install an internet security software if u wanna change to another brand?
Q. I have an unexpired internet security software already installed and want to install a different brand than the active one. What's the best way to install the new brand while still running the former?
Asked by Caribguy - Sun Oct 11 14:55:23 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Before installing new security softwear you will need to delete the one which you have been using from your system because the two systems will conflict with each other. Then once you have installed your new security softwear whether it is Norton or McAfee they will check your computer for any threats and 'clean'. Also because security softwear has also 'firewall' you will need to switch off Windows 'firewall'' Hope this helps, Regards from Davie

A. Start menu, then click search, then in the file name box put norton. This will bring up a list of all the files on the pc with norton as part of the file name. Delete all of them, and empty the recycle bin. This should take care of the problem.

A. I agree with the Dr, you don't need that. There's plenty of free security software at Komando.com, along with lots of advice on anything digital. The links there take you to the official home site of the software maker, so you get a fresh copy, not like some of the sites that bundle unwanted junk with their downloads .

A. You will probably have to get the downloads some other way and try to install it from a portable device like USB If you don't have an internet on that computer than mayby you should get Kaspersky Anti-virus only, because it will be cheaper and you don't need the extra things with Kaspersky internet Security.

A. I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, I have recently added superantispyware and Malwarebytes. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just upgraded to AVG free 8.5 and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

A. Yes you can if you have a 3 license. Open a norton account or if you have one sign on to it. Open Norton at top click on account. Once you sign in to your account it will tell you how many computers you can use on your License. You can also try installing norton and using your product key see if it works on the other computer.

Q. In California the law says a job can only go back 7 years in criminal history check. What about a job like internet security in California, does anyone know if they can get around this law and go back more than 7 years? Because it's not a goverment agency, but I don't know.

How do I get 50 spams for Kaspersky internet security?
Q. The spam protection wants me to give 50 spams. Does anyone know what they are talking about. I am beginning to feel I got ripped off on this internet security program. I don't have 50 spams in my computer.

A. It's talking about spam you get in your E-mail. You know that junk mail that comes from people you don't know. Kaspersky is a very excellent AV.
